John Phillips, Jr.
Secretary and Parliamentarian
“My family has been affected by some form of cancer or another ever since I can remember. My grandmother, Granny Sue Phillips died of cancer in April of 1987. My other grandmother, Granny Margaret Ann Williamson, was diagnosed in 1992 with breast cancer. She is a 15 year survivor, still going today at age 80 today. My father, John Phillips, was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer in 2001. He passed away June 8, 2003 at only 48 years old. When conventional methods of treatment didn’t seem to help his situation, he underwent experimental treatment at The Ohio State University. He told his family that at the very least if it didn’t help him, he knew it would help someone else down the road.”
